WELCOME to the Mardi Gras Gala 2025 Virtual Auction Tuesday March 4th 6-9pm! Brought to you by Oldsmar Friends of the Arts, Inc., a 501(c)3 charitable organization benefitting the Performing Arts of Oldsmar!
Our Auction site is now OPEN! Many more items to come before day of event! Auction is FREE to register, to participate you only need your iPhone, Android, IPad, Laptop or Desktop and internet access. Guests who attend the Mardi Gras Gala 2025 event in person will need their devices at the event in order to bid. Tickets to attend the event are available online at OFotA.org. You do not need to attend the event to bid on auction items and show your support! Anyone is welcome to bid online whether at the event or watching from home! Also we will have a live feed of the event on our Oldsmar Friends of the Arts Facebook page throughout the evening for all to enjoy!
Oldsmar Friends of the Arts is dedicated to supporting Oldsmar Performing Arts programs, for education and charitable purposes, enhancing the caliber and experiences for our local youth and families that will empower them for a lifetime. Oldsmar Friends of the Arts is a 501(c)3 chairtable organization, on a continuous mission to help raise funds to support Oldsmar Performing Arts programs and works in partnership with the City of Oldsmar. Everything raised directly benefits our children and offers performing arts to all who want to participate.
This fundraiser is dedicated to raising funds to supplement and grow Oldsmar's Performing Arts programs enhancing the caliber of the performances and the quality for our children and families in the community. The money raised will help with the high expenses needed for producing quality performances including elaborate sets, scenery, costumes, licensing, and so much more...including making performing arts available to all! Join us on our mission to help these talented students in the Performing Arts Programs to see their dreams come true, with all the pageantry and professionalism they so deserve while keeping costs down for our community and families.

Fly the L-39 Fighter Jet L-39
Fly the L-39 Fighter Jet L-39 "Albatross"
This gift certificate includes a training and 45 minute flight with instructor and owner, Howard Chipman. Aurora Aerospace provides pilot training in the L-39. This aircraft was built in Czechoslovakia and is used by many air forces of the world as an advanced jet trainer and as a flight attack aircraft. Our L-39 is the "zo" or attack version with 4 "hard points". It served in the East German Air Force until Germany re-unified.
Our instructor can provide introductory flights as well as initial and recurrent training. We also have an FAA approved Upset Training Program and are available to train corporate and airline pilots. We can do up to 4 training flights per day and can reposition to another airport upon special request.

Aurora Aerospace is the world's only civilian space training center where the general public can have access to military jet flight training as well as "zero-g" weightless training flights. Our experienced instructors have helped many people of very different experience and ability levels ungergo aerobatic jet flying as well as being able to float like an astronaut. We use an L-39 Albatros for our military jet flights and a Rockwell 700 for our zero-g flights. All flights are conducted at the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport in Clearwater, Florida.
Howard "Chip" Chipman is the owner and chief pilot of Aurora Aerospace for the L-39 and Rockwell 700. He is a flight instructor with over 40 years of flying experience. He has done some cosmonaut training in Russia and has flown over 40 different types of aircraft. As a physician, he can also offer education regarding physiology of flight to the trainees and specializes in training pilots of named levels of experience.
The Aurora Aerospace Training Center is conveniently located at St Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport in Florida. The airport is a short drive from Tampa International Airport and less than two hours by car from Orlando.
Aurora Aerospace Chief Pilot and Chief Medical Officer Howard Chipman has over 30 years of flying experience and is a Certified Flight Instructor with Commercial, Multi-Engine, Glider, Instrument and L-39 Jet Ratings. He is also a Board Certified Emergency Physician. He has personally completed a variety of space flight training at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Russia.
The L-39 jet trainer was born in Czechoslovakia and made its international debut at the 1977 Paris Air Show.
